An American sailor happened to be wandering round a Tokyo cemetary, and was puzzled to see a young Japanese reverently place a dish of sweet cakes on a grave and walk away.

That’s crazzy way to act, thought the sailor. He caught up with the Japanese and said:

"I don’t mean to be insulting, bud, but there’s just one thing I can’t figure out. When do you reckon that corpse is going to eat his little snack?"

The answer came in a flash.
"Just as soon as your grandfather smells the flowers you put on his grave."
