WHY Is OBSERVATION IMPORTANT?
Observation is commonly used in education as a tool to support understanding and development.It is one of two
common ways of getting information which can help us make sense of:
-educational situations
-gauge the effectiveness of educational practice
-plan attempts for improvements
WHAT IS MEANT BY OBSERVATION?
Observation doesnt just mean seeing.It is most often used to include hearing as well as using other sences to collect
information.
THERE ARE FOR MAIN PURPOSES FOR OBSERVATION
a)Development:Observations where an observee makes their own decisions about how to use the observer and their observations.
b)Evaluation:this category groups obsrvations where the main purpose is for the observer to make a judgement.This observation type
may also be used by managers.
c)Research:Ths category includes any observations which are carried out for the main purpose of creating public theories.
d)Training:this category includes observations where the focus of learning is on skilled practitioner behaviour.
WHAT ARE THE ELEMENTS THAT DISTINGUISHES ONE TYPE OF OBSERVATION FROM THE OTHERS?

TYPES OF OBSERVATION IN GENERAL
a)Descriptive:describe what takes place with no deduction or judgement.
B)Interpretative:Aims to make interpretations on what is taking place
c)Evaluate:Aims to reach a judgement such as good,bad,boring
